Have you ever walked Boston’s historic Freedom Trail? My service dog HONEYBOY and I would love to lead you but if not this time this is the next best thing!!!! It serves as a guide to some of the revolutionary voices from the heart of Boston and the development of the markets. It was written to meet the Massachusetts curriculum objectives for 8-11 year olds.

Additionally Freddie the Fish introduces you to his friends GUS the grasshopper on top of Faneuil Hall, LEO the lion and EUNICE the unicorn on top of The Old State House. The Massachusetts State House is where you can find Freddie’s grandmother, Mod the sacred cod.

Who likes secrets? There are plenty to learn in this story. Vocabulary words and activity pages makes If BOSTON’s Buildings Could Speak a fun book for the entire family. Also its a perfect book to entice you to come for a visit and begin your adventure to the “Hub of the Universe”.

Lauren McGrath

HI EVERYBODY, this is my “service dog” Honeyboy. I am a Retired National Park Ranger (Boston National Historical Park (BNHP 1997-20110) due to my disABILITIES. I wrote this story as a pre-visit for 3rd and 5th grade Boston School students.

In 2013, my fellow alumnus Lindsay Liu (a scholar at Boston University) was killed while running the Boston ”FREEDOM” Marathon. This tragedy served as the inspiration so that her family would have this as a momento yet I was unsuccessful. 5 years later I have NOT given up on my DREAM. SO this revision, not only HONORS Indigenous people, African Americans, the VISIONARY BRAVE minute men (Women included), willing to lose EVERYTHING for my RIGHTS and NOW illuminates the importance of keeping OUR WORLD WATER WAYS & PLANET CLEAN. SPEAK OUT !!! & thanks for sharing.

Hope to hear from you, my fellow FOREVER student and friend. Lauren Marie McGrath, OT, Registered Yoga Teacher / 4 wk MINDFULNESS WORKSHOPS.
